Antonio Ippolito


Antonio Ippolito is a versatile musician, a concert performer who plays piano and bandoneon as a soloist, with orchestra and in several formations of chamber music (from classical to contemporary music, tango and jazz). Born in 1979, he started to play piano at the age of 6 and he obtained a diploma (master’s degree - Piano) at the age of 19 (“E.R.Duni” Academy of Music, Matera – Italy). He studied classical piano music with Nelson Delle Vigne-Fabbri (Argentina-Italy), Aldo Ciccolini (France-Italy), Benedetto Lupo, Giorgia Tomassi, Carlo Grante (Italy) and he studied Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Bari (Italy) where he got a master’s degree in 2003 with a graduation thesis on the French composer and conductor Pierre Boulez. In 2001 he attended a workshop on piano music with Maurizio Pollini at the “Chigiana” Academy of Music (Siena – Italy). He performed at major Italian and International Festivals and he played, recorded and collaborated with great musicians (such as Hugo Aisemberg, Bruno Tommaso, “Novitango”, Adrián Fioramonti, Ruben Peloni, “Progetto Piazzolla”, Massimiliano Pitocco, Alessandro Vavassori, “Sexteto tipico Viento de Tango”, “Tango Tinto”, “Cuartetango”, “Guitart Quartet”, Angelo Nigro, Vincenzo Perrone, Carla Pugliese), famous dancers (Eduardo Cappussi e Mariana Flores, Roberto Herrera, Marcelo Alvarez, Eduardo Moyano e Daniela Demofonti, Margarita Klurfan e Walter Cardozo, Antonio Marquez), world-famous actors and directors (Sebastiano Lomonaco, Roberto Guicciardini, Alessandro Haber, Susy Blady, Lello Giulivo, Lindsay Kemp) and prestigious theatre companies.
